SHOP GRAND REOPENING NOVEMBER 1, 2022

First Letter and Email.

January 2, 2013 (Letter)

Dearest Family,

HEY! I'm a legit missionary now. I've got the black name tag and everything. It's super real. I was told to write you and let you know that I'm okay. Well, I'm okay!

Things are going pretty great! My companion is Sister Woodward. She's from Herriman, Utah. She's tall. And blond. Umm. She's 21. She's pretty cool! We get along pretty well thus far. [a whole 12 hours... not even. like 8] She went to BYU and studied nutrition. Yeah. That's about it.

There's a kid in my district (using fancy mission lingo is weird.) from Torrence. He knew Philip. His name is Elder Rahman. Like Ramen. But not. But we had a good little chat about how Philip never talks. So that was fun.

Oh, I'm the only girl sister in my room who isn't from Utah. So that's kind of cool.

I should also let you know, my P-day is on Tuesday. At least I'm 98% sure it is on Tuesday.

Well, day one at the MTC was a success. So hopefully the next 19 go just as well.

I love you all soooooo much!

Love,
Sister Leavitt

P.S. They totally make temple cafeteria food here.

P.P.S. We sang the Army of Helaman today when we first got here but they changed the words a little bit so instead of singing, "and we will be the Lord's missionaries..." we sang, "and we are now the Lord's missionaries..." so I thought that was really cool.

Dearest Family,
This week has been suuuuuper crazy! I can't believe I'm a missionary!
Like a legit missionary, with a tag. First, I just want to thank the
following people for their lovely letters: Mom (2), Dad (2), Shaye,
Scott, Marian, and Chuckles. You guys are so rad!!

The MTC is so challenging, but so great! I guess Uncle Ben was right
when he said that missions are the best kept secret of the Church. So
stinking true. It is so challenging. But so very good! I'm loving
almost every minute of it! My companion is Sister Woodward. She is
from Herriman Utah. And she is 21. At first I was wondering how things
were going to work out because we are kind of the same but kind of
really different. But things are working out very well and I am amazed
at how well Heavenly Father knows each of us. He doesn't mess around
when it comes to companion matching. haha.

My district. holy. I love those missionaries, but sometimes it is
REALLY hard to focus because Elders are SUCH Chatty Kathies... Kathys?
Whatever. You get the gist. They just talk and talk and talk. hahah.
And what makes it worse is the fact that they are funny, so I want to
join in on the conversations, but I really want to focus on the
lessons my companion and I are supposed to be teaching. But during
class time, my district is practically golden. All quiet. We have the
Spirit with us and I get to learn sooooo much! It's awesome.

I love gym time. I think I could go on all day about how much I love
gym time, but I'll keep it as short as possible. Sisters coming out to
the field soon: PLAY 4 SQUARE. It will change your life. The Elders
that play 4 square are seriously the coolest Elders in the MTC. I met
a bunch of friends like Elder Connelly, Elder Platt, Elder Marsen
(He's from Manchester and has THE coolest accent EVER.), Elder
Harper... and SO many others. They are so cool and so much fun. I
think I love the MTC because you can be yourself and not have to worry
about impressing any of the guys because that isn't the purpose.
College stinks compared to the MTC. hahaha. And I loved college.

The food at the MTC is pretty alright. Probably the biggest let down
though. It looks INCREDIBLE. But then you try it and it's just
alright. Not bad, but just alright. I guess food is food though. So I
am pretty grateful for that!

Dad, you are totally right when you said that you'll meet someone who
knows of Bunkerville and how awesome it is. I meet people ALL over the
place who I can connect with! It's so much fun! On Sunday I met
Keyanne Faught's cousin-- Elder Workman. He just left for the field
yesterday! But he was really cool and we talked about how cool
Bunkerville is and all that jazz. It was a lot of fun! I have also
seen Chica and Ace (two girls I worked up at Brighton with-- we didn't
sing cumbaya. sorry Dad). I have also seen the Healy kids, but I
haven't said anything to them because I don't want to be a creeper and
be like "Do you remember me?!" And then have them say no. That would
be awkward. I am actually amazed at how many people I know in the MTC
here. Sister Zundel (the girl that was in my unit at Brighton) is in
my district and also one of my roommates. So that's fun.

Umm, I don't want to have incredibly long letters, but I have SO much
I want to tell all of you! The teachers here are amazing and they help
so much! The investigators teach me so much EVERY. SINGLE. LESSON. I'm
amazed. Just when I think I have this whole teaching thing down,
things get crazy. It's hard, but I love it! I'm learning a lot and I
really love getting to know people.... And I thought I was shy... We
are teaching three people right now. They are all so different but all
so amazing. We have Daniel, he's from the Congo. And Jazzy, she's from
California. And Lawanna, she's from Littlerock. They are all so
wonderful and I love getting to know them a little better each lesson!

We went to the temple today. Luckily for the Provo Temple, it doesn't
look like a spaceship on the inside. It is gorgeous. The session was
great! And I got to help the Sister that was in the witness couple. It
was only her second time, but she and her husband were some of the
only people there that weren't missionaries. So that was a really neat
experience! I really enjoyed it!

Oh! Today we were woken up at 4:15 because the fire alarm was going
off! It turns out that a pipe burst in our building and so the fire
alarm went off and we had to evacuate. It was pretty exciting. Except
for the fact that it was 4:15 in the morning. That was a bummer.

I love you all! And I am so grateful for ANY mail that comes my way!
Please send me mail though! We're having a district competition and
I'm only winning by two! I write back! I promise!

I love you so much!
Love,
Sister Sadie Leavitt

I forgot! Happy Birthday to Terran, Trevor, Sisley, Braden, Tyler, and
Aunt Lynette! Also, what is Grandma and Grandpa Bergeson's email? How
is Grandpa doing? I hope he is doing better! I love you all so much!
Love,
Sister Leavitt
