On December 30, 2019, I was doing exactly what I had been doing for the
prior 10 weeks-- resting and taking it easy. I had my 36 week check-up the
next day and so I spent most of the day watching TV and scrolling through
Instagram. My phone rang and it was my Doctor’s office. They asked me if I
would be willing to come in that day rather than the next day. I didn’t
have anything else to do, so I said I could make it work. The car at home
isn’t my favorite to drive in colder weather, so I called Parker and let
him know I would be coming to trade him cars so I could go to my new
I drove over to Parker’s work, parked the car and started walking over to
Parker’s car. I got to the door of the car, went to open it and suddenly
felt a gush of fluid.
I really, really, really love how her nursery turned out and I just cannot
wait to snuggle her and spend more time in there with her. I love how
simple and functional everything in her room is. It feels cozy but spacious
and I just really love that fact.
This week we hit our big goal mark: 35 weeks! At 26 weeks when I was first having pre-term labor symptoms, 35 weeks felt sooooo far away!! (I mean that IS 9 weeks!) I was really nervous we wouldn't make it. But here we are! 35.5 weeks, just barely celebrated Christmas and now, anxiously waiting for the arrival of our sweet baby girl.
In my last bumpdate post, I said at the end that hopefully the next one
would be a little more boring… Well, I must have jinxed myself because we
spent another two days in Labor and Delivery AND I’m dilated to 1cm and 80%
thinned. My doctor says I could stay this way for another two months or
things could change pretty quickly, so we’re just taking things one day at
a time over here. But we’ve officially made it to 32 weeks and I feel
REALLY good about that!
