Hey family,
I'm glad to hear that everything is going pretty well back home. It's hard to hear about the tragedies and sad/ upsetting things that happen to people. But the good news is that the Atonement of Jesus Christ makes everything unfair about life fair again. (It says it much better in Preach My Gospel. You should look that up)
This week was pretty good. On Monday we had P-day. Obviously. And I got a trim. The girl did a really good job. It didn't even look like my hair got cut. So that was nice. However, I've decided to grow out my bangs because I'm pretty sure they make me look younger. And if I hear, "You look like you're twelve" one more time, I might explode. Does anybody have some magic stuff to make one look older? Is there an oil for that? (
Wednesday we had a district barbeque. One of the less actives in our ward loves us and gave us a bunch of uncooked steaks. So we had steak for district lunch. It was delicious. Probably the best district lunch I'll ever eat. It was a lot of fun.
Thursday we did something fun, I'm sure of it. I just can't remember.
Friday we got to go to a graduation party for a girl in the ward. One of our investigators was there and so we talked to her for a while. It was a lot of fun. And our investigator opened up to us that night so it was really good! Plus they had skittles there. Which is ALWAYS a positive.
Saturday we went to New Haven and taught some of my favorite Primary aged investigators. We found out that their mom won't let them be baptized though. It makes me so sad. But we still set a date and we're praying really hard that their mom's heart will be softened. Miracles happen. And sometimes we just have to realize that our timing and the Lord's timing are a bit different. And all things shall be for our good.
Sunday, I spoke in church. I thought for sure that Elder Perkins would have to speak with me because he's new too. But nope. Just me and the high councilman. I spoke on member missionary work and how important it is! I realized this week that we promised Heavenly Father when we got baptized that we would share the gospel. We promised. And it's a commandment. It was a huge epiphany. So I hope that you all are sharing the gospel as often as you can! It's not hard! You can do it! I believe in you! :)
Today we are getting a bike fixed up for me. One of the elders left it when he went home. And now we have to ride bikes because we're running a twinge low on miles. So we're gonna start biking! ..... yay....... So that'll be exciting. I'll let you know how it all goes.
We also have President Interviews, a temple trip, and a baptism this week! So this week should be pretty awesome! I'm praying for all of you! I love you so much! Remember that Heavenly Father loves you and that tests of faith are good for the soul!
Love,
Sister Sadie Leavitt
P.S. Tell the Hughes family that I say they can't move! That's bologna!
The sign says, "On this sight in 1897 nothing happened." I love those signs. they are the funniest. |
