the blessings of BYU-Idaho
We get to start each class with a prayer and sometimes a Hymn. We get to discuss scriptures and the words of the Latter-day Prophets in class. And because of this great blessing, I have gained a stronger testimony that Heavenly Father hears my prayers and that He has a plan for me and knows exactly what I need.
In my Preparation for Marriage class, we were assigned to read these four talks.
Using the Supernal Gift of Prayer by Elder Richard G. Scott
To Acquire Spiritual Guidance by Elder Richard G. Scott
"... Line Upon Line, Precept Upon Precept..." 2 Nephi 28:30 by Elder David A. Bednar
Agency or Inspiration? by Bruce R. McConkie
They helped me so much. I can't even describe it to you. I have been praying lately and kind of wondering if Heavenly Father is really listening to me because the answers weren't just coming. But then I read these talks and I realized that Heavenly Father is listening and He is helping me along the way. Little by little, my answers are coming. He is listening. He loves me. I know it.
I've also learned that "His answers will seldom come while you are on your knees praying..." (Elder Richard G. Scott - Using the Supernal Gift of Prayer... I told you it was a good one...) As we serve others, we find ourselves being blessed beyond measure. The Lord wants to bless us-- He's waiting to bless us. When we serve others, we are filled with a true Christ-like love and we begin to see others the way He sees them.
so....
Go and Do, right?
Right.
The Lord has prepared the way. And He knows we can make it.
