To start this episode, I think it’s important to define what imposter syndrome actually is. Google defines imposter syndrome as, “The persistent inability to believe that one’s success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result of one’s own efforts or skills.”

Imposter syndrome in grief is defined as, “The persistent inability to believe that one’s grief is valid or legitimately experienced as a result of one’s own thoughts or feelings.”

I think we all feel this NEED to legitimize our experiences. Or rationalize WHY they were difficult. It’s like we feel the need to be able to adequately explain our feelings and emotions in order for them to be valid. But the fact is, if you felt it, it was real and valid. And that’s enough.

This episode will talk through my own journey of overcoming imposter syndrome and hopefully help guide others to overcome it as well.
